 5 short months ago I experienced the regret of not taking better care of my body, as I approached my 50's, my clothing size keep growing. I was a size 4 in my younger days but health issues and a comfortable lifestyle just started packing on the pounds. It was so painful to look in a mirror or at a photograph.  I finally just grew comfortable with the 'new me'.  My son would place his arms around my waist and I would instantly squirm knowing that his warm, affectionate, hug just made me call to conscious how much larger my waist had become.
These days I sometimes experience the pain of discipline with sore muscles, not eating poor food choices that seemed so yummy at the time, making the time to exercise and boy has it been worth it ~ Jim Rohn you are so right..Take charge of your life, today!
When my son hugs me now ~ I embrace it, lovingly with such a feeling of joy, for making the decision to eat consciously and exercise everyday has help me to chisel over 33 pounds and 25 inches off my 5'4" frame.
I heard someone say last night that people assume those of us who make better food choices are deprived...'Deprived?' she replied "does this body look deprived?, actually you are the one who is depriving yourself out of more energy, a longer life and less disease.  What a brilliant response - it is so simple to eat healthy.  When your body is filled with nutritionally dense food cravings disappear almost overnight.  Aches and pains are minimized.  Your energy is raised to a level many have not seen in years.
Ah, the pleasure of living a disciplined life far outweighs the pain of regret.

Vegan: a conscious eating choice can change the world.

Have you ever wondered what it could be like to make a conscious eating choice such as becoming a vegan? All it is is someone who looks closely at all of the implications of their food choices -- to his or her own body, to the animals, and to the environment -- and then chooses to lean in to a plant-based diet. Add the suffix "ist" means "one who does" or "one who studies," so a veganist takes what he or she learns and puts it into action by eating things that grow on trees or in the ground. It's all about progress, not perfection.

  In the process, you create the possibility to see, think and act differently, and to attract new opportunities.
Here's why: Each time you pause and choose not to indulge habituated behavior you enter into clear space, a "gap" which is, by definition, free from the distortion of your unconscious. The instant you do this you create an opportunity to link to sacred and sublime intelligence. Experiencing this, if only for an instant, connects you to boundlessness, a place free from the doubts, contrary beliefs, and/or misapprehensions that oftentimes obstruct you from taking greater control of your life and even achieving your goals.

This may sound too simple to be life-changing, but I've seen people accomplish incredible things, achieve profound changes in their life, simply by letting go of a habit and placing new, positive, life-affirming intentions into the space once occupied by their habit. Let go of stressful self talk

Stress can make or add to fine lines and wrinkles  in the expressions on our face.  Did you know there is a conversation that goes on in your head 24 hours each day and exerts a major influence on how we look, feel and behave?

This can even affect us even while we sleep.  That is the time your body uses to restores itself.  Changing your thought patterns to positive, uplifting ones can make a huge difference in your self talk.

Understanding that other people may never do exactly what we want them to do. Events must always turn out exactly as we want them to or even we may never disappoint ourselves or act contrary to our expectations can be big help in releasing the stress that surrounds these limiting beliefs.

Replace these thoughts with ones that empower the mind, body and soul. Other people may not act the way we want. Don't invest our well being in their behavior.  Sometimes despite our best efforts events will turn out the way we don't like.  Most importantly, we are likely to make mistakes now and then.  Embrace that we are not perfect as perfectionism can be one of the single most destructive behaviors you will ever have.

The 8 Pillars of Wellness

It recently was brought to my attention that since the skin is our largest organ it is most affected by how "well" we really are. There are so many factors that determine that.  When someone asks you " How are you?" Do you immediately download all that ails you. RE: Be good to your Sole!!!

When running or workout out with a high impact program here are the benefits of being barefoot or close-to-barefoot: Better posture, stronger legs and feet, less impact on your body, more of a connection to the world beneath you (And an increased awareness of your surroundings as a result), and an increased depth of sensation. All of the above spills over into other benefits that are less obvious: having less weight on your feet makes me feel more prone to play, break into a jog, or just move around. Toe shoes specifically are quite conversation starters, and while some find this a nuisance or feel uncomfortable with strangers checking out their footwear, I see it as another way to connect with others (even when my introverted self wants to be left alone).
If you pick up a pair of toe shoes (or just go barefoot more), bear in mind that you've got some foot rehabilitation in store — flat feet and shin splints are very likely related to your body having (mal-)adapted to modern footwear. If you've been running in and/or wearing heeled shoes (and who hasn't?), it's slowly degraded your natural, evolutionarily determined biomechanics and physiology. There are true experts on the human foot out there, but the arches of your foot (there are three) are supported by muscles in your feet and like any muscles, lack of use will weaken them over time. There are a few foot exercises you might try to rebuild your arches, and there are plenty of anecdotes of FiveFingers fans with flat feet developing an arch over time. Crazy, right?
Bear in mind that you're going to need to take it slow and be patient with the process. There are many things that are going to have to change — your body is going to have to get stronger as a lack of cushy shoes means your muscles will do more of the impact-dampening. Meanwhile, your brain will need to be reprogrammed to move without cushy soles, which have likely lengthened your stride and resulted in your legs being stiffer on impact with the ground. Your Achilles tendon is going to have to lengthen (it seems elevated heels in shoes can shorten your Achilles over time).
Just as much as your feet grew weak over years of disuse (likely a process that started shortly after you were a toddler), it's going to take awhile to get strong again. But it can be done and I encourage you to do it. Better now than later! Just be mindful about it and don't go run two miles on day one! Go outside and walk barefoot. You don't need shoes for that and it will make you aware of how different it feels to feel the earth on your bare skin. This is natural and the senses in your feet (plus your eyes!) are the best protectors against you hurting yourself by stepping on something sharp. Trust your body. . Walking barefoot on a concrete sidewalk or asphalt street is a feeling you probably haven't had since you were a kid. It doesn't hurt it's simply sensational. Go try it!

Lines around the eyes are not funny

To target solutions for fine lines around the eyes, it is important to distinguish when you see the lines. Do you see lines around the eyes when you are not smiling or only when you are? If you have lines around your eyes when you are not smiling, then you need to step up your skin collagen building effort. When looking to build collagen around the eyes, be aware that traditional collagen builders such as glycolic acid and retinol, are much too irritating for the eye area in any meaningful concentrations. Oligopeptides, however, are highly effective, and less irritating. The encapsulated versions in a light serum are preferable for better presentation, delivery and penetration. I highly recommend my personal favorite Mary Kay's Eye Firming cream.

A simple tip I want to share is if your eye cream tends to make you eyes water, sniffing it's fragrance before applying it can help reduce the tears.

I currently work with a wonderful Fitness/Nutrition coach who helped me change my total way of life.  While this may seem extreme to some, here is an article I found that truly helps me, make it all make sense.

A personal favorite

- Chia Seed Pudding -

Chia seed pudding is a delicious, quick and healthy raw food recipe. Made with wild or organic chia seed it is a powerful superfood.
The tiny seeds have been used since 3500 BC and were one of the most important crops for the Aztecs. These ancient people prized them so highly that it was often used as currency. Their warriors could run a whole day on just a handful.
Chia seed - also called salba when they are white - has extraordinary nutritious power. Dr. Oz said: "These things may be the best food around." And according to one manufacturer chia/salba seeds contain (gram for gram):
  • 30% more antioxidants than blueberries;
  • 6x more calcium than whole milk;
  • 15 more magnesium than broccoli;
  • 25 more dietary fiber than flax seed;
  • 8x more omega 3 than salmon;
  • 3x more iron than spinach;
  • 50% more folate than asparagus;
  • 2x more potassium than a banana;
  • 2.5x more protein than kidney beans.
But maybe most important, chia seeds form a gelatinous layer inside your intestines that is a preferred home for probiotics and other beneficial bacteria.
Therefore it is excellent food for people with intestinal problems such as crohn's disease or irritable bowl syndrome. It is also perfect for babies and children as it creates a optimum start for their internal environment. Chia seeds look like poppy seeds. They have a neutral, mild taste. Just like flax seeds, they become jelly like when you soak them for 30 min or more.
You can eat them as a pudding or add some to your smoothie. (My kids prefer them over flax seed in smoothies because the flavor is more neutral.)
You buy organic chia seed in most health food stores and online. They cost about 15 USD a pound. (Salba seeds a little more. Some claim salba seeds are better than chia seeds, but I haven't found any proof on that).

Why Skin Gets Loose After Weight Loss

Recently I lost over 32 pounds and I feel absolutely amazing. What I have learned is skin may not return to it's original tautness initially.  I was immediately concerned. However, since it has to stretch as we move, grow, and--as in the case of weight loss-- shrink, skin is an incredibly elastic living organ. Believe it or not....skin is not just one big piece of rubber that covers the entire body, but is instead an organ, and just like all the other organs in your body, it is comprised of cells.

Different layers of your skin have different types of cells, and though the skin cells on the outer part of your skin (the epidermis) are constantly being lost and replaced with new cells, the skin cells under the epidermis are a bit more permanent. These layers of the skin, called the dermis and sub dermis, are made up of elastic connective tissues, fibers, blood vessels and all sorts of components that can stretch or contract depending on how they’re treated.

What Happens to Your Skin When You Lose Weight?

When you lose weight, and especially when you lose weight very quickly, these elastic components of your skin not only lose the layers of fat that keep them stretched out over your body, but they also don’t have much time for their elasticity to adapt to your new shape.

In addition to weight loss, age, poor nutrition,  excessive sun exposure, dehydration and smoking can all affect the elasticity of the skin and give you that elephant-like appearance you probably don’t want.

How to Tighten Loose Skin After Weight Loss

As you lose fat and your loose skin begins to appear, the first rule is: don’t panic! Because it is a living organ, your skin will slowly return to a shape that fits your new body. Acne reducing tips for you

  • Resist the urge to pop pimples, I know it's tempting, but here's why you shouldn't: Popping pimples can push infected material further into the skin, leading to more swelling and redness, and even scarring. If you notice a pimple coming before a big event, like the prom, a dermatologist can often treat it for you with less risk of scarring or infection.
  • Avoid touching your face with your fingers or leaning your face on objects that collect sebum and skin residue like your phone. Touching your face can spread the bacteria that cause pores to become inflamed and irritated. To keep bacteria at bay, wash your hands before applying anything to your face, such as treatment creams or makeup.
  • If you wear glasses or sunglasses, make sure you clean them frequently to keep oil from clogging the pores around your eyes and nose.
  • If you get acne on your body, try not to wear tight clothes. They don't allow skin to breathe and may cause irritation. Scarves, headbands, and caps can collect dirt and oil, too.
  • Remove your makeup before you go to sleep. When buying makeup, make sure you choose brands that say "noncomedogenic" or "nonacnegenic" on the label. Throw away old makeup that smells or looks different from when you first bought it.
  • Keep hair clean and out of your face to prevent additional dirt and oil from clogging your pores.
  • Protect your skin from the sun. It may seem like a tan masks acne, but it's only temporary. A tan may worsen your acne, not improve it. Tanning also causes damage to skin that will eventually lead to wrinkles and increase your risk of skin cancer.
These are just a few guidelines that I found and I wanted to share with you today.

Pat, pat, pat....

Even though it is Autumn, crow's feet are never in style!  Here is a tip I want to share for application of eye care products.  Are you one of those people tug on that precious skin around our peepers? I want you to learn the fine art of gently patting you products into place.

Always go from the outside in towards the nose.  Then complete the eye socket by going from the top of the brow towards the outside of your face and back in towards the nose.  This recommended application is given by many top professionals in the field.  I can tell you first hand I have used it for over 22 years and I am proud to share I have almost no crows feet as of today.

Best skincare secret yet...

One of the best skincare secrets I can offer you is to remain stress free as best you can.  Skin that isn't under constant stress is luminous when you hydrate as much as possible.  I have learned that in almost every stressful situation there are blessings. Too often we are so focused on the glitch, problem or person that we completely miss that there is a blessing inside.

I think back to 9/11.  There were so many different stories of alarm clocks that didn't go off, traffic jams, household problems that kept several people from being in the Towers that day. Initially their day had gotten off to a bad start by most people's standards.  I think that each one of them can attest that it was the single best blessing they had ever received, once they learned of what was about to unfold.

Embrace each day.  Know that you are exactly where you are supposed to be.  Being mindful of that will help you stay as stress free as possible. You skin will thank you.

RE: Let your light shine through

Each of us posses different gifts.  Do you know what yours is?

Defining your gifts is one of the single best goal getting steps you can take. How many times have you compared your lack with someones gift? Your worst against their best.  We can be our toughest critic.
It's been said many times over what you focus on your manifest.  Focusing on what we our lack just attracts more into our life.

I have learned so much by beginning an nutrition and exercise program nearly 121 days before my 50th Birthday.  I have been able to lose 30 lbs.  In starting the program, I was in no way fit which automatically made me believe that I couldn't do it.  I borrowed the belief of my fitness coach.  Step by step, everyday it became easier until it became a way of life.  Looking at the instructors I was comparing my "out of shape" body with their 'Fit as a fiddle" bodies.  I was ready to quit before I even started.

My tip to you today is if there is a dream in your heart, a goal - find someone who has it naturally as a gift and ask them to mentor you and before long, when you take the appropriate action steps, your light will begin to shine through.

Bug List!

Here is one of the most simple ways to eliminate stress lines on your face.  Worry can cause you to frown.  Frowning leads to deep lines in the forehead. Here is a tip that going to get you on the path to winning immediately.  Make a bug list!

There isn't anything you can't fix except your height, these days.  They have surgeries for almost everything. Take an hour and sit down with a cool glass of water or your favorite beverage and write down EVERYTHING that bugs you. I mean everything.  Don't like where you live - change it.  Have too much weight your carrying around - make a decision to lose it. Don't like your hair - get a haircut, color, highlights.

I think you get my point, everything can be fixed by making a committed decision to change.  The easy part is we experience change all the time.  It's the one constant in life.  So make a point of getting comfortable with change.

It's you life, you get to decide whether you live full out or simply tolerating all life's little bugs.

Happy Hydration

One of the best hydrating tips I can share with you is your H2O consumption.  Fitness expert Mark Martell shared with me an intake of 20 ounces or more first thing in the am is one of the simplest ways to hydrate your body after it's night rest of over 5 or more hours.

Simplicity: How not to complicate it

I find it so funny that many of us know that simplicity is an essential key to not being stressed out, yet we spend our days in busy work which creates stress.  An abundance of days that seem far to short.  A constant state of chasing our tail syndrome.

Take a day to clean out your mind.  Define what is important to you.  From washing your face to a streamlined make up application that can have you feeling great and out the door in minutes to life goals of if you knew you could only have one dream come true what would you prioritize as the most important one?

Then take the next week and rid yourself of everything that is not getting you closer to that goal to create a state of simplicity.

It's easy, once you define what matters most. Then every day do 5 action steps that are congruent with you goal.  As you watch it come to fruition you will see in the mirror a face filled with Joy.  A joy filled face will automatically reflect a life well lived which is the single best anti aging tip I can share.

Nothing is impossible to a willing heart.

Have you ever noticed that with in the word impossible is IM POSSIBLE? Isn't that interesting?

Nothing is impossible to a willing heart. It is all how you look at it. Perception is often the difference between success and failure. One of the tools that has helped me the most in my direct selling journey and my personal life is putting time and distance between a situation or event helps you see with total clarity, the end result or at least the next step.

Don't try to do it all in one step. When you step back you can usually see the lesson or the result.  What I love most is it gives you the ability to tweak if you need to.  Just get your goal into your heart.  If you are willing then I can almost guarantee you are able.  Step by step.  Inch by inch. Measurable results will chart your path and help clarify your perception of the goal at hand.

Anything is possible.

Count your blessings not your troubles!

Maltbie D. Babcock shares it is better to lose count while naming your blessings than to lose your blessings counting your troubles. I had to blog about this because it spoke volumes to me.  I find sometimes people overwhelm themselves with keeping their eye on the trouble generally missing both the lesson and the blessing.

It is in life's little circumstances our greatest blessings manifest. In my time on this earth I have learned what you focus on magnifies and then multiplies.  Most recently attending a conference in Atlantic City, NJ. Our mentor shared that worry is a prayer for getting exactly what you don't want. put it all in His hands.

So my friend today, I urge you to begin a blessing journal. When you are feeling down take a minute and reflect on all you already have.

It is not because things are difficult, It is because..

How many times have you found that getting started is the hardest part? Failure to start is what stops many great accomplishments before they ever had a chance.

It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare things are difficult. Think of how easy it would be if only you organized your kitchen for just a half hour a day.  Instead how many of us wait till the fall, then the spring and the task becomes overwhelming.

I have learned that inch by inch it is a cinch.  You can apply that to almost any aspect in your life. Pick a goal or task, chunk it down.  You will see on paper how simple it will become as you map your plan to finish what you were afraid to start.

Sera que funciona, trabalhar de casa?

 
Construir um negócio de venda directa em minha casa, nesses 20 anos, e com minha família crescendo não foi nada fácil. Você cadrastou e lançou seu negócio! E agora?? Você já escutou aquela frase “Agente nunca terá uma segunda chance pra deixar uma boa primeira impressão”? Bem, aqui esta alguns passos simples que você pode tirar aproveito desde o início.




  1. Determine seu lugar pra trabalho . Não há nada pior que um escritório que se filtra por a casa inteira. Sem mencionar que você precisa daquela linha que define “Trabalho” e “Lar” . Pode ser tão simples como um espaço dentro de um quarto.
  2. Determine seu horário de serviço. Eu sou apaixonada pelo meu negócio, posso fazê-lo 24 horas por dia, 7 dias por semana. Mas não há nada que vai fazer sua família rejeitar seu negócio mais do que te ver enterrada no telefone cada vez que ele tocar.( A mensagem que eles recebem é que eles não são tão importante quanto a pessoa no telefone) Mas a razão que você está construindo seu próprio negócio em casa não é pra ficar mais perto deles e pela importância deles em sua vida?
  3. Determine as regras: Crianças ficam super animadas quando você divide seu entusiasmo. Algumas vezes elas estão observando suas conversas, seus passos, reações e sua maneira de trabalhar. Você provavelmente irá concordar que normalmente não divide todos os detalhes de seu negócio se você não estivesse trabalhando em casa. Um detalhe extremamente importante e também urgente é que você seja capaz de deixá-los saberem que não é toda conversa que irá ser compartilhada.
    Uma vez, quando eu estava no telefone e minha filha precisava de minha atenção “imediatamente”, simplesmete à olhei pra ela perceber que eu à tinha visto e que precisava de mim e que eu poderia estar disponível em um pouco.
  4. Uma vez que você é sua própria chefe, você pode fazer seus próprios horários que se encaixa melhor com sua vida em casa. Quando meus filhos chegam da escola, eu me desligo do meu negócio até que temos um tempinho pra bater papo e fazer um lanche juntos. E o que eu descobri fazendo isso, foi que eles pararam com interesse de ficar tomando minha atenção rapidinho. E os dias que eu não fazia aquilo, eles tentavam puxar minha atenção de qualquer maneira. No entanto, eles começaram a entender que quando era hora de eu voltar pro “escritório” eles tinham que respeitar meu trabalho.


Essas foram só algumas dicas chaves que me ajudaram a ser uma profissional e mãe ao mesmo tempo!

Passion

Passion is one of the greatest motivators of all time. Especially in leadership your passion must be pure. This single force is so powerful it can drive any human over the edge. It is capable of making you do things you would never even thought possible. It in of itself, can create sheer determination. It can help you sustain your energy to accomplish the unfinished tasks that will get you closer to the heart of your intense desire.

It is the driver that inspires us from with in. It has been said that passion will lead to sustained, focused effort to achieve extra ordinary mastery in a skill. Knowing what excites you and then building your work or your career around it is a smart recipe for success. However, it will almost always require flexibility especially as it relates to leadership.

Think of that first love, the feelings, the intensity, the willingness to speak on the phone the whole night through. It is all fueled by passion. Passion can be looked at like a consistent adrenaline rush. Passion can create endurance. All leaders need endurance for the journey. If you are working towards a goal but there is no passion behind it you will find there will be many 'ADD' moments. Your attention will constantly be diverted. The task will be hard and monotonous. You are not able to have that single minded focus.

In building your leadership, I would recommend defining your passion first and then selecting a destination that has been created out of passion. It will begin to feel effortless when you plug you the key element into your leadership. You need to be in harmony with your core value system. You need to discover what it is about you, your gift, that will separate you from the rest. Then become wildly passionate with a vision of what it is you are going to create.

Passion is an emotion. Communication is the transfer of emotion. Only 7% of the words we speak are actually understood, the rest is your tonality and body language. Would you agree that passion will induce the entire body into your message..

People love to follow those who love life. The journey is so much more fulfilling when you have and entire cheering section behind you. Think of that marathon racer and all the people along the way that are helping him go the distance. Leadership is at its best when you have the total support of your following. Simply stated, make sure you pack your passion for the journey....

Be your Own Boss




One of the things I find most difficult for most people to master is the art of being your own boss. When you open a business in the direct selling industry or any small business it is easy to want to have a wait and see mentality out of fear. Not to mention that it comes with so much freedom and flexibility but many times one of the greatest challenges lies with the discipline it takes to run the company as a million dollar business it has the potential to be.

If we were to analyze your business today, would you give yourself a raise or would you give yourself a pink slip? You laugh but I have to tell you when I looked at my business through the eyes of a boss very quickly my work habits changed.

What is your vision for your organization? How much revenue do you see possible for you to create? Really! What is your income potential from this business? Are you running your organization 'as if'?


When a McDonalds (TM) or Dunkin Donuts (TM) opens, they open with the same intensity, operating systems, inventory and staff as the ones who have been in business for years. They don't have a 'wait and see' mentality. I've never heard them say when we make enough we will hire someone to cook the burgers, roll the dough, make the coffee. It is set up from the start for maximizing its fullest potential.

Well, you must be the organization you envision and no “wo' man can do it all. Learn the art of delegation. Keep a close eye on cost. Spend time and money on the things that will help you go the farthest the fastest. Identify what your income producing activities are and the go to work to produce the income to have the staff or team necessary to be a total success.

How much time will you save? How much more efficient will you be? When working with the right team to get the job done? How much more creative will you be when you step in to the position of a successful leader for your organization.
